Flew onto a plateau
There’s a city ‘pon a city
Couldn’t take the overload
But I was sitting pretty
Got to get the travel mode
Those hotel days were lonely
Coughing with the altitude
But I’m digging painted poetry
Digging those walls allegorically
Made for Teotihuacan for angles on historically
Where I sat my ignorant ass,
Where my toes tread
In the streets of the dead
Where the waking dead walk
Oohing and ahhing
Another must chalked
But when they go home they’ll miss
What they sought
Smiled at from the pyramid tops
By Tlaloc from where he send his rain drops
And the paisaje cools when it hits six o’clock…
Back in the Districto Federal
I see ghost families wandering
In poverty’s chains and it
Puts me to pondering all of man’s gains
Seems when a profit is made a loss is incurred
And man’s limits for love shrink, get blurred
Like so many sweet words for a simple caress
But what do I know?
I walk, catch a bus, catch another, ions negative are what I need
Palenque Palenque!
How you hide, nestled in the hills where
Jade ghosts reside and the trees
To their mother selva, secrets they
Confide
That was your kingdom this is our court
That was your kingdom this is our court
Hasten on my mind foundering on the rocks of time
A pendulum swings, I regain the line
Focusing my mind on all that is fine, crystal and verdant, sky blue above
All that is love
